Here is the monkey cake up close. I used two round cakes, cut one into a moon shape and then fit the other round cake into it. The ears are chocolate covered doughnuts, the eyes black jellybeans. I made regular white frosting, added a little cocoa powder for the light brown and then added more cocoa powder to make the dark. It was probably one of the easiest birthday cakes I have ever made.
